As A Blind Advocate
#8B - Advocacy in Action

Original Release: 9/11/2019

Donna Jodhan in a suit. Sitting. Facing the camera.

I would say that advocacy can take on so many dimensions; from simply interacting with kids in a classroom setting to standing up for one's rights and those of others!

In this case, it was I who learned some very important lessons as these students showed me their interpretation of how art could be shared with a vision impaired person. I truly enjoyed my interaction that day with these youngsters and I can only hope that they too enjoyed it and that they were able to take these experiences and use them to become advocates for others.

On that day we all believed in ourselves and in each other!

I thank my good friend Sambhavi for having given me this opportunity to visit the Ursula Franklin School in Toronto.
