Author Donna Jodhan on the Crime Crusher Series
Many people have and continue to ask me what made me decide to create the Crime Crushers with Detective DJ series, and I guess that my answer is not difficult to give.
I was inspired mainly by my dad who used to tell me stories as a child. Almost every night, dad would tell me a bedtime story that he would make up; right out of his head and oh how I treasured these stories. They would be all about pleasant things, all about princes and princesses, queens and kings, and fairies. Sometimes he would tell me stories about lions and tigers and wolves as well.
My granny continued the tradition but this time with a bit of a twist. She and I would make up stories about our dogs going on various adventures.
Then my mom completed the picture as she and I would and continue to spend countless hours watching detective mystery shows on TV and telling each other about books that we would read. We continue to have lots of fun doing this.
I decided to put my imagination to work to develop my very own series and to make them available to those who love listening to audio mysteries. These stories are for you who are shut in, are unable to access books in print, Braille, or through the Internet, and for those of you who enjoy easy listening while working or driving.
I hope that my listeners enjoy my imaginative adventures and I thank my beloved parents and granny for having inspired me to do this.
